The Hebrew Free Burial Association is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the principle that every Jewish person is entitled to a Jewish Burial. For more than 100 years, we have been helping Jews in need and their families in their saddest hours. Since 1888, we have arranged burials for nearly 60,000 poor Jewish people.

For teens, the best way to get involved is through HFBA’s Cemetery Clean-Up Project. The Clean-Up Project was established to ensure that every grave at Silver Lake Cemetery and Mount Richmond Cemetery is properly maintained.  Volunteers rake leaves and clear debris in our cemeteries, so that every grave is maintained with respect.
