Council of Jewish Emigre Community Organizations:
COJECO was formed in 2001 as an umbrella organization for grassroots community organizations of Russian-speaking Jewish immigrants in New York to make their voices heard and respected. Today they represent over 30 such member organizations, including young adult leadership groups, Holocaust Survivors, professional associations, arts & culture organizations, and social justice groups.
Council of Jewish Emigre Community Organizations (COJECO) was founded in 2001 to conduct research to further the growth and enrichment of the Russian-speaking Jewish community of New York. We research and identify methods for the successful integration of Russian-speaking Jews into the greater American Jewish community. Our research has resulted in the identification and preservation of the culture and history of the Russian-speaking Jews, enabling them to engage with the community on their own terms, encouraging identity exploration, informal Jewish education, and volunteering.

There are quite a few ways to give back to the community through COJECO. Depending on upcoming events, some of the most popular are:
- Assist organizers of upcoming events with logistics, door ticket sales, etc.
- Participate in a project helping Russian Jewish senior citizens.
- Projects can be specified to your interests and skills! Contact COJECO directly for more information.
