The Jewish Community Council-Washington Heights-Inwood:

The JCC-WHI works with individuals and families of all ages and backgrounds to help them lead independent lives and enhance their quality of life. We achieve these goals through a wide variety of programs and services including case assistance provided by caring social workers, and entitlement assistance to access whatever help is available through various government or other agencies.

The JCC’s Food Pantry helps approximately 300 local families put food on the table each week.

More info:

Our food pantry operates on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, from 10:45AM until 1PM. Please bring photo identification on each visit. A maximum of 6 volunteers per session is needed.

The Anti-Poverty Food and Nutrition Program also provides entitlement counseling, the delivery of weekend and holiday meals to the home bound, and emergency food vouchers.

Our efforts help local residents to maintain an adequate level of nutrition while they are unemployed, underemployed, or in job retraining programs.
